The Ogden Point Enhancement Society
The Ogden Point Enhancement Society, a registered charity, was established in 1996 when then Mayor, Bob Cross, organized a group of volunteers to beautify the Ogden Point area and create public space.
As a result of these meetings, the Ogden Point Enhancement Society was formed to initiate the Concept Plan. The Concept Plan defined the areas to be used by vehicles and pedestrian access corridors to improve safety and security. It also took into consideration the importance of an aesthetically pleasing public port facility and related tourism activity. Since those beginnings the Ogden Point Enhancement Society has completed several phases of 'enhancement'.
Na'Tsa' Maht – The Unity Wall is our latest project. With your help, the Ogden Point Breakwater will be home to the world's longest mural. Contribute today and help us complete this immense canvas, a public art piece that extends to the sea and creates a bridge between cultures. Two phases have been completed to date. Na' Tsa' Maht – The Unity Wall has succeeded in bringing the history of the Esquimalt and Songhees First Nations, as depicted by their artists, to the forefront of the City of Victoria. It has also succeeded in providing opportunities for young artists to reclaim knowledge and pride in their First Nations culture while learning a skill and gaining valuable work experience.
